It is my last post!!
Ten weeks have passed.
It was soooooo fast!!
Time flies!!
but I had many experiences which I never had in Japan.

It became natural for me to speak English.
In Japan, if I speak some English during conversation in Japan,
people think I am weired.
but, it is not weired here!!

From this Friday, my new life will  be started.
Many of myfriends will leave here one by one,
and I have to say good-bye to my host parents because I will move to the apartment.

Starting new thing is always not only exciting but als scary.
but I think everything will be allright!
I do not the reason, but now I can enjoy whatever happens.

party

one of the cultural difference that I have experienced here is party.
I was surprised that I knew people in America hold the party on every Friday.
And it is more crazy that Japanese one.lol

Also I was surprised that American people know many card game!
various card game are know by not only students but also my host parents.
They love card game so I play with them more that twice in a week.
Some of them are complicated, but so interesting!!

When I will go back to Japan, I will share some games with my friends and play it with drinking!!

Las Vagas trip

I went to Las Vagas and Grand Canyon with my friends from May 25th to 27th!
It was the first trip since I came here!!
In short, everything was awesome!!!

I did not know how good Las Vegas and Grand Canyon are!
It does not happen \many hotel have roller coaster in Japan.lol
In Las Vagas, night time was most exciting:)
We enjoyed Blue Man show and beautiful night view!!
Some of my friends tried sky jump!!!
I also want to do it someday!

It has long time to go to Grand Canyon from Las Vagas,
but we were satisfied.
It was quite a spectacle.
We signed up for Grand Canyon tour, so do not have much time to walk around.
I wanna go there again!!

I am under 21, so I could not enjoy casino:(
I want to go back Las Vagas when I will be over 21 and have enough money to play casino!!

Disney Land!!

I went to the Disney Land at Los Angeles!!
I was really looking forward going there because I have never been there!

Japan has also Disney Land in Tokyo.
I have been there twice or three times, and I had really good time!
Some attractions were scary and interesting and characters were so cute!!

Now I have been to Disney Land both in America and Japan.
Disney Land in LA is the first Disney Land in the world, but Japanese is better for me.lol
Because some attractions in LA are for childrens.
Rollar coasters were not faster and scary...lol
And big sunder mountain which I wanted to ride the best was closed.lol

It was so fun, but I am not sure I will go there again lol

mother's day

It was mother's day yesterday!

I went to Los Angeles with my friends and bought candle and card for my host mother.
By the way, the sushi restaurant in LA was so nice!
It had a same taste sushi with Japan!

Anyway, We had a mother's party yesterday.
My host family gathered host mother's parents house on every Sunday.
We sat in a circle, and passed the each message card.

I was moved when I read the letter from husband to wife.
There were many nice words and the letters told how they love their wife.
Japanese people do not tell love directly, so those letters were impressive for me.
It is so splendid culture, I think.

I also sent a present for my mother in Japan using internet, amazon.
It will be not able to be delivered on mother's day. but I hope she likes it.

promise

Today, I promised with my friend not to talk in Japanese!
It may be natural for international student not to talk in native language,
and I paid attention not to do it at first.

But, recently I became careless gradually.

And I went to the hair salon to have may hair cut, and enjoyed talking with a hair dresser.
She is Japanese and her husband is also Japanese.
She said that when they came here, her husband did not talk in Japanese at all.
Then, his English skill improved rapidly, as a reslut, he can talk with layer fluenrly.

In contrast, she does not like English, so se cannnot speak English fruently even though she have been living here more than 15 years.

To here that, I decided to talk only in English.

I tried to do it once before, but it was so stressfull and everyday I was tired.

But, at first, I work hard to speak in English in this week.
If I will talk in Japanese, I will buy sturbacks coffees for my friends.lol

We will work hard together, and grow up together!!

trip, trip, trip!!

During my studyng aroad, There are many places I wanto to go to!
New York, Las Vagas, Boston, Chicago, Grand Canyon, Yosemite and San Diego!!
Canada to see an aurora, Peru to go to Machu Picchu and see Naska's drawing on the gound and Mexico!!

I like trip, so I have visited some coountryies and I wanto to go more places!

I like Japan the best, so I decided to go to all prefectures in Japan.
Japan has 47 prefectures, and I have been to 12 prefectures, Chugoku-area and Kyusyu-area.

I have been to Chugoku-area alone, and it is my first challenge to go on a trip myself.
It was hard for me to go aound five prefectures alone,
but I met many people and talked a lot, and it made my viewpoints boad.

Trip always makes me excited, and let me notice many important things.
I love trip, and I will keep traveling Japan and other countries.

A month

Three days later, it will have passed for a month since I came here.
I cannot believe it because it has passed very fast so far.

I made new friends, new program like conversation pertner will start soon in UCR.
...actually, the number of assignmnets increased.lol
I think that I can get used to new environment gradually.

I am not sure whether my English is improving or not.
But everything will be all right because I can enjoy every day.

And I have three holidays in this week!
I have no plan yet, but I am looking forward to doing something!
Hang on from Monday to Thursday!

This weekend

12,April

I went to the Angeles stadium to see the ANGELS vs Huston Astros game with Bridget, my host's daughter, David, Bridget's friend and Isavelle, international student from Brazil.

Unfortunately, ANGELS lost for 0-5.

But it was exited because it is the first time for me to watch the live baseball game.

I like the baseball, but basketball better.

So, I want to watch the NBA live next time.

This day, it held the Andley's birthday party at the Monica's house.

Monica is daughter of my host parents.

Many people visited Monica's house, and there were many children.

They were so cute, and I was surprised that the American birthday party was different from Japanese one.

American birthday party is more showy and large-scale than Japan.

It was good experience for me to know knew aspect of American life.

First Post

This is my first post!

About twenty days have passed since I came to California, Riverside.
Having a Easter party, Going to Joshua Tree National Park, Los Angeles and so on...
In the first week, I was in a depression, but became used to new environment gradually.
And these days, My life-school, talking with friends or Host family is becoming fun.

Sometimes, I talk with my friends on skype.
My friends who are belong to same faculty in Japan also study abroad in the U.S. or other countries.
I talk with them about my new life and cheer up each other.
My friends are working hard to brush up their English.

And also, I talk with my friends in Japan.
There are 16 hours difference between Japan and California.
But we can talk as if there are no such long distance.

We cannot meet like in Japan, but I am always encouraged by them not only in Japan but in California.
They are very important existences for me.

So, I am really worrying about Japan now.
Because a big earthquake happened in Japan, Kansai area, my home town.
I could contact with my family, and they do not have any injury.
Maybe my friends are also safe.
But I cannot help thinking about them.
I wish people who live in Japan are not caught in any problems.
